Abstract
Street coffee carts, as a form of micro-enterprise, often rely on 3-kg LPG gas and power banks to support their operations, particularly for lighting and water heating. However, this system has limited energy capacity and poses high safety risks. This report discusses the implementation of an alternative electrical system that is safer and offers more functionality by using a 12V car battery and a 1000W inverter as the energy source. The new system replaces the use of 3-kg LPG gas and power banks for powering heaters and LED lights, while still prioritizing Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) aspects. The analysis shows that the new design can provide a greater electricity supply (up to 720 Wh), allowing LED lights to operate for 11 hours and electric heaters for more than one hour. In addition, the system reduces the risk of fire caused by gas leaks and short circuits from wiring. This study demonstrates that a simple engineering approach can offer practical, efficient, and safe solutions for micro-entrepreneurs in urban environments.
