Abstract The creep behavior and microstructure evolution of Alloy 800H were investigated at 760 °C under 80 MPa and 950 °C under 25 MPa. Despite differing temperature and stress conditions, no significant differences were observed in the total rupture strain or rupture time. Microstructural analysis revealed that subgrain formation occurred during creep at 760 °C, while subgrains were rarely observed at 950 °C. Precipitate coarsening was negligible at 760 °C but became pronounced during creep at 950 °C. At 760 °C, a high dislocation density was observed, with strong interactions among dislocations and between dislocations and precipitates, indicating a dislocation-controlled creep mechanism. In contrast, at 950 °C, dislocation density was much lower, and dislocation cross-slip was prominent, suggesting diffusion-controlled creep.
