A Quantitative Baseline Survey of the Ichthyoplankton, Invertebrate Zooplankton and Microplastics in Saint John Harbour
Bibliographic record
Abstract
This study was part of the Coastal Environmental Baseline Program Initiative under the Oceans Protection Plan of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, which aimed to collect a baseline of data on the Port of Saint John, New Brunswick. It aimed to provide updated information on the ichthyoplankton and zooplankton communities in the harbour, and their interactions with microplastics. Samples were collected at six sampling stations (three in the inner port and three in the outer port). These were sampled at eleven timepoints between 2019 and 2022. At each station, for each timepoint, three replicate plankton tows were conducted. Ichthyoplankton and zooplankton from these was identified by the Huntsman Marine Science Centre's taxonomic laboratory. Abundances for different taxa are given. Data on temperature and salinity was collected for each station. A selection of different taxa were pulled from the samples for microplastic analysis. These samples were digested using standard procedures in the UNB microplastics laboratory. The colour, type and size of suspected microplastics were recorded, and FTIR analysis was performed to determine particle composition.
Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
