Książka Stosunki kanadyjsko-amerykańskie w polityce premiera Pierre'a Elliotta Trudeou 1968-1984 przedstawia współpracę supermocarstwa (Stanów Zjednoczonych) i państwa o średnim potencjale (Kanady), w okresie gdy w ich wzajemnych relacjach zachodziły poważne zmiany. Podjęta tematyka jest ciekawa i w Polsce bardzo mało znana. Głównym celem, który postawił sobie autor, jest zbadanie skali swobody i możliwości działania Kanady, Kilkunastoletnie rządy Trudeau stały się tłem do prześledzenia tych zjawisk w długiej perspektywie i pokazania ewolucji stosunków między obu państwami. Autor konfrontuje swoje ustalenia z powszechnymi opiniami na ten temat. Jest to możliwe dzięki podjęciu w tekście szerokiego zakresu spraw.
