Yapılan bu çalınmada ortaokul öğrencilerinde ayrılma anksiyetesi belirti düzeyinin sosyodemografik özelliklere göre farklılıklarının ve akademik başarı ile ilişkisinin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Arattırmada ilişkisel tarama modelinden faydalanılmıştır. Arattırmaya ortaokullarda öğrenim gören 299 kız ve 293 erkek öğrenci katılmıştır. Arattırmanın veri toplama sürecinde “DSM-5 Ayrılma Anksiyete Bozukluğu şiddet Ölçeği-Çocuk Formu” kullanılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında elde edilen verilerin analiz ağarmasında SPSS 22 programında Mann Whitney U testi, Kruskall Wallis H testi ve Spearman Korelasyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonunda öğrencilerin hem fen ve sosyal bilgiler not ortalamalarının hem de genel not ortalamalarının orta seviyede olduğu bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerde ayrılma anksiyetesi düzeyinin yaş grubu, cinsiyet ve öğrenim gördükleri sınıf düzeyi değişkenlerine göre anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği tespit edilmiĢtir (p<0.05). Buna karşılık ayrılma anksiyetesinin anne eğitim düzeyi, baba eğitim düzeyi, anne ve babanın birlikte yaşama durumu, anne ve babanın çalışma durumu, doğum sırası ve aile gelir düzeyi değişkenlere göre farklılık göstermediği belirlenmiştir (p>0.05). Bunun yanında öğrencilerde ayrılma anksiyetesi ile not ortalamaları arasında anlamlı ilişkinin bulunmadığı belirlenmiştir (p>0.05). Sonuç olarak, ortaokulda bulunan öğrencilerde ayrılma anksiyetesi belirti düzeyi ile not ortalaması arasında anlamlı ilişkinin bulunmadığı, bunun yanında ayrılma anksiyetesi belirti düzeyinin bazı demografik değişkenlere göre farklılaştığı söylenebilir.
