Abstract

This paper explores the recent digital transformation (DT) in healthcare, referred here to as Healthcare 4.0. It examines current literature to understand how healthcare organizations can effectively implement and manage their digital initiatives to maximize the benefits of emerging technologies. Key success factors and challenges are identified, highlighting the potential impacts of DT on performance and service delivery. Our findings suggest that a collaborative approach is essential, emphasizing the importance of multidisciplinary teams, teamwork among medical and IT professionals, and ongoing skills development. Addressing challenges such as regulatory compliance and technical barriers, including data sharing, interoperability, and privacy concerns, is crucial for a successful DT in healthcare organizations.
