Abstract
La découverte de ce corpus, sa conservation puis son édition s'inscrivent dans une histoire singulière. Au début de l'année 2010, les discussions entre Zhang Letian et des collègues chinois et étrangers à propos des ventes, un peu partout en République populaire de Chine d'archives institutionnelles et privées comme vieux papier à recycler -parfois sauvées de ce destin et acheminées jusqu'aux arrière-boutiques de bouquinistes -, soulignent l'importance des matériaux historiques qui sont en train de disparaître. Un tel phénomène n'est pas nouveau dans l'histoire de Chine. Il a été documenté, par exemple, par Ye Wa et Joseph W. Esherick qui relatent la vente d'archives impériales à des fins de recyclage après la révolution de 1911 5 . Il sévit cependant à partir du milieu des années 1990 dans de nombreuses villes chinoises en proie à un processus d'urbanisation, et donc de destruction, rapide.
