Abstract
En la actualidad, la medicina aviar ha cobrado gran relevancia debido a que el consumo de carne de aves constituye una de las principales fuentes de alimento en el mundo. Las aves, que se encuentran presentes en los distintos ecosistemas terrestres y marítimos, son valiosas para ser utilizadas como modelo de investigación en el campo biológico y ecológico, además de asignarse un gran valor como animales deportivos u ornamentales, guardando muchas de las epecies, una relación muy cercana con el ser humano al convivir con el mismo como mascotas. Dado que la finalidad del médico veterinario es interactuar con el propietario de un animal a fin de brindar ayuda para mantener el bienestar de los pacientes, es su objetivo conocer los procedimientos que le permitan realizar la exploración física de los mismos. Esto permitirá establecer un diagnóstico, pronóstico y, posteriormente el tratamiento más apropiado para la resolución exitosa de los cuadros clínicos.
