Real-time face detection has become a crucial component in numerous applications, including surveillance systems, human-computer interaction, and biometric authentication. This paper provides an overview of state-of-the-art signal processing techniques used to achieve efficient and accurate face detection in images under real-time constraints. The study covers classical approaches such as Haar feature-based cascaded classifiers and more recent signal processing methods like Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Local Binary Patterns (LBP). The integration of machine learning classifiers with signal processing features is also discussed. A comparative analysis of computational complexity and detection accuracy is provided. Finally, the paper highlights future research directions, focusing on deep learning integration and hardware acceleration.
