Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Maboroshi no Genji Monogatari Emaki," the largest set of existing Genji illustrations, was produced in the 17th century. The "Emaki" consists of 19 scrolls located around the world. The Ishiyama Temple houses the first scroll of "Suetsumuhana."The Spencer Collection at the New York Public Library has the second and the third scrolls of "Suetsumuhana" and the sole "Hahakigi"scroll. The three "Kiritsubo" scrolls and the six "Aoi" scrolls are maintained in private collections. The six "Sakaki" scrolls were separated into 31 sheets in France. The sheets have been partially retrieved: two in the United States, two in Belgium, and two in France, respectively. When comparing "Sakaki" and "Hahakigi" with regards to painting style and scene selection, it turns out that the "Kotobagaki" texts were written by the same author, but the pictures were painted by different painters. This suggests that the patron of "Maboroshi no Genji Monogatari Emaki," rather than the author of "Kotobagaki," ordered painters for each scroll.Because the author of "Kotobagaki" was related to the Kujo family, the patron might have been the Kujo family. In this study, I reconsider why and for whom Kujo Yukiie (head of the Kujo family) produced the "Emaki."

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
