Abstract
本報告書は、第1部到達度の比較と第2部カリキュラムの比較から成り、前者では、 「第3回国際数学・理科教育調査が示す我が国の理科教育の課題」、後者では、 「国際比較のための背景の重要性」 「各国の類似点と相違点」 「各国の科学教育」 「TIMSSの科学カリキュラム・フレームワークについて」を記載した。第2部の内容のすべてが「National Contexts for Mathematics and Science Education-An Encyclopedia of the Education Systems Participatingin TIMSS」 「Curriculum Frameworks for Mathematics and Science」（いずれの出版もPacific Educational Press，CANADA）の科学教育に関する部分を中心に翻訳したものである。
