The treatment of public space in the preroman cities of Southern Illyria and Epirus (Vth -Ist centuries B. C.)
Bibliographic record
Abstract
On the basis of the architectural treatment of the Bylis agora, the authors define two main periods in the realization of public spaces in the Preroman cities of Southern Illyria. The first period begins with the foundation of cities after the mid-fifth century BC till the end of the IV century BC. It is distinguished by the simultaneous reservation of agora spaces, always placing them close to the entrances of the city walls, that provided their attendance equal to the population of the city and that of the hora. Only Apollonia and Dyrrahchion begin in this period to monumentalize these spaces, having as a principle the volumetric harmony of constructions. The second period begins with the rule of Pyrrhus in Epirus and the construction of Antigonea and Lîssos in the first quarter of the III century BC, when a clear division of functional areas of cities w as articulated and the orthogonal system was widely applied. Two different concepts were developed in the realization of the agora. In Apollonia and Dimale, the type of agora detached from the orthogonal system was applied, with volumetric harmonisation of the constructions and the separation of the temenos, reserved for the religious activities, from the part opened for the social and cultural activities. The origin of this type is from the agora-s of mainland Greece. In Byllis, Antigonea and in a number of Epirotic cities, a second type of agora is based on a regular quadrilateral plan, integrated in the orthogonal system, simultaneously realizing the principle of volumetric harmony. The origin of this type is the Ionic agora in general and that of the cities of Sicily and Magna Graecia.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.

machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
