It examines landmark cases she was essential in crafting—including establishing new gay rights as well as tracing her 45-year career through Canada's judicial system and eventual retirement from the bench. We hear from Abella’s late husband and her children, as well as her colleagues regarding her sense of duty to Canada and her ethical standards. Abella fought for the rights of women, native people and the disabled - giving them a voice from within the courts. Several former Canadian Prime Ministers are interviewed, and they only had praise for Abella. The respect she earned from her colleagues is undeniable. This film is a biographical tribute to Abella. Featuring famous friends speaking about Abella’s unwavering sense of duty to the law and Canada. Suitable for all viewers but better used for those in high school and up.
