Abstract
Este artículo presenta las características del contenido y el enfoque pedagógico del curso «El código civil en Sudamérica»: (i) las experiencias comunes y las diferencias en el desarrollo del código civil en Sudamérica en las que se fundamentó el seminario, (ii) el énfasis del curso como un estudio de la doctrina sudamericana del derecho privado, dictado en español, a la luz de estudios primordialmente escritos en español por autores sudamericanos, (iii) la naturaleza no jerárquica del método de enseñanza empleado en el seminario y la posibilidad de mejoramiento continuo del trabajo de los estudiantes a lo largo del curso, y (iv) la posibilidad de ver ese curso sobre el código civil como un llamado a cuestionar las jerarquías comunes en la enseñanza del derecho en general, así como a abrirse a una estructura menos jerárquica, o con jerarquías más flexibles, en la enseñanza del derecho comparado en particular.
