Tijdens het Plastival in maart 2025 onderzochten onderzoekers, beleidsmakers, ondernemers, studenten en bewoners samen welk zwerfafval de Rijn-Maasdelta vervuilt, waar het vandaan komt en wat we eraan kunnen doen. Analyse van de data van het Plastival heeft duidelijke verschillen getoond in typen afval tussen stad, haven en rivier. Dit wijst op uiteenlopende bronnen per gebied. Daardoor is een uniforme aanpak weinig effectief en zijn gerichte maatregelen per locatie noodzakelijk.
