Abstract
Cet article propose une analyse sociologique des fondements institutionnels et organisationnels d’un établissement carcéral à sécurité maximale confrontée aux résultats d’une recherche de type recherche-action, soit une enquête de psychodynamique du travail réalisée au Canada auprès de la majorité du personnel d’un tel établissement. Il s’agit de comprendre comment sont vécus les rapports entre la mission d’un pénitencier et les modes de gestion mis en place du point de vue des travailleurs rencontrés.
