Abstract
Cet article examine les reconfigurations des relations entre vies humaines et plus qu’humaines en contexte urbain post-industriel. À partir d’une ethnographie menée autour d’un projet de ferme de renouées du Japon à Saint-Étienne, France, il analyse comment artistes, scientifiques et retraités développent des liens sensibles et interespèces avec cette plante dite « invasive » et les friches urbaines où elle prolifère. Ces trajectoires incarnent le développement d’une écologie relationnelle qui dénaturalise les catégories d’« espèce invasive » et de « vide urbain improductif », en s’opposant aux récits modernistes qui dominent la science des invasions biologiques et les politiques de restauration écologique et d’urbanisme. Plutôt que d’éradiquer ces espèces ou de normaliser les friches en les décontaminant pour les redévelopper, il s’agit de rester avec le trouble des ruines du capitalisme et de cultiver des capacités de réponse envers des assemblages vivants marqués par la pollution et l’imprévisibilité.
