La pénurie d’électricité est un problème récurrent auquel sont confrontées de nombreuses villes en Afrique. Conakry ne fait pas exception. Toutefois, dans certaines circonstances, l’État intervient pour mobiliser les ressources afin de répondre à la demande en énergie. La figure du chef bienveillant est alors convoquée. Ce fut le cas lors de la Coupe du monde de football 2002. Cet article, qui explore cet événement spécifique, s’appuie essentiellement sur la presse guinéenne qui se fait l’écho et l’analyste des problèmes des citadins.
