Abstract
Depuis quelques années, le nombre d’oeuvres québécoises qui portent sur l’ancien Canada français ou l’actuelle francophonie canadienne ne cesse de croître, tant et si bien que certains spécialistes désignent cette préoccupation de la littérature québécoise récente par la métaphore de la hantise. Et si cette littérature était hantée au sens figuré comme au sens propre, dans le sens d’être habitée par des fantômes ? En recourant à l’ hantologie (Jacques Derrida, Mark Fischer) comme cadre théorique, cet article propose de traquer la figure du fantôme (et ses variations plus ou moins surnaturelles) ainsi que la présence-absence de la francophonie canadienne dans six textes narratifs : la nouvelle « Antigonish » parue dans Arvida (2011) de Samuel Archibald, ainsi que les romans Les trois lieues (2008) de Sylvie Desrosiers, Camille (2015) de Patrick Isabelle, Cadillac (2018) de Biz, L’homme de la Saskatchewan (2011) de Jacques Poulin et Va me chercher Baby Doll (2021) de Lucie Lachapelle.
