Cet article analyse la manière dont Emma Dante déconstruit les stéréotypes liés au féminin et au genre dans deux de ses adaptations théâtrales contemporaines de contes de fées. L’étude des pièces La bella Rosaspina addormentata (2013) et Anastasia, Genoveffa e Cenerentola (2010) met en lumière la manière dont Dante remplace les modèles patriarcaux par des personnages hybrides et subversifs. Le théâtre devient un espace de « quotidianisation » (« quotidianizzazione »; Barsotti, 2016) du merveilleux d’où émergent les archétypes jungiens de l’Amante et de la Femme sauvage. Le travestissement, la non-binarité et la critique sociale y occupent une place centrale, faisant du théâtre dantien un outil politique et inclusif qui interroge la binarité et valorise la liberté des corps et des identités.
