Abstract
RÉSUMÉ À la différence de la science économique, de l’histoire ou même de la philosophie, la sociologie apparaît de plus en plus éclatée, tiraillée entre de multiples écoles et courants de pensée. La perspective d’une unification paradigmatique de la discipline semble s’éloigner chaque jour davantage à mesure que la mondialisation progresse et que se défait l’idée même de société. Parallèlement se profilent des tentatives d’élabo~ration d’un nouveau cadre sociologique (la société globale) à partir du socle théorique initial. Le GÉODE se propose de réunir certains des meilleurs sociologues théoriciens généralistes mondiaux pour examiner librement avec eux les perspectives qui restent ouvertes aujourd’hui à la théorisation générale en sociologie, étant entendu que cette question engage immédia~tement celle de l’identité de la discipline.
