Abstract
Cette recherche examine l’expérience de H. M., un immigrant yougoslave ayant quitté Skopje pour Istanbul en 1954, à travers ses archives personnelles conservées par sa famille. Elle met en lumière la manière dont il vit la procédure d’accueil en Turquie sur une décennie, en analysant le rôle des concepts administratifs dans son parcours et les stratégies individuelles qu’il mobilise pour s’intégrer au marché du travail. Les archives de H. M., exclusivement composées de documents administratifs, révèlent les démarches qu’il entreprend pour s’adapter à un système d’accueil. Bien qu’il bénéficie d’un accord bilatéral facilitant son entrée en Turquie, H. M. rencontre divers obstacles nécessitant une reconversion professionnelle. Cette étude met en évidence la manière dont les procédures administratives influencent les trajectoires des migrants, révélant des tensions entre stabilité et mobilité. H. M. incarne le cas d’un immigrant qui puise dans ses origines pour naviguer au sein d’un système administratif complexe, tout en se conformant aux attentes normatives de son pays d’accueil. Placé dans un état d’« entre-deux », il doit à la fois dissimuler son origine migrante et exploiter ses compétences liées à son passé pour accéder à un poste dans la fonction publique. Analysées en parallèle avec les archives d’État, les archives personnelles de H. M. illustrent le rôle des catégorisations administratives dans la construction de parcours migratoires.
