RésuméLa décolonisation a longtemps été étudiée et enseignée comme s’il s’agissait d’un phénomène historique inscrit dans un cours progressiste et linéaire de l’évolution de l’humanité : elle était d’abord, intrinsèquement, la marche des colonisés vers l’indépendance et la nationalité. Mais nombreux ont été les aléas chronologiques et géographiques qui ont contredit cet optimisme et désavoue le concept de « jeune nation ». Et le débarquement en force du terme « postcolonial » l’affaiblit encore. Si bien qu’a surgi une trouble interrogation : quel est donc le fil rouge de cette histoire qui désormais paraît sans fin ?
