Scientific psychology in the first quarter of the 21st century: development prospects

Abstract
The article states that despite the obvious successes of scientific-academic and practice-oriented psychology in the first quarter of the new century, important questions of a methodological nature remain in psychological science. Among this set of questions, the most pressing ones can be identified, primarily related to the preservation by scientific psychology of the status of a fundamental scientific discipline with its own real subject as a basis for integrating various approaches. Any significant integration of psychological knowledge without a satisfactory solution to these questions seems to be impossible. The article outlines possible immediate prospects for integration, discusses the issue of the multiplicity of theories of the same mental phenomenon (theories of the same level), and sets the task of correlating them in order to create prospects for moving to generalizations of a higher level.
