Abstract
À propos de l'artisteNée près du fleuve à Lévis, Jacynthe Carrier s'investit, depuis plus de quinze ans, dans une pratique autour du vivant et de l'image.Habitée par les tensions qui animent nos relations aux territoires contemporains et à l'imaginaire extractiviste inhérent à celles-ci, elle crée des performances in situ qui explorent, par le mouvement et la présence du corps collectif, des espaces de connexion et la possibilité de créer de nouveaux récits.Ses scènes performatives pressentent le corps comme un outil de réflexion sur nos différents rapports au monde et les images naissantes de ces évènements s'inscrivent dans une écologie du sensible et de l'attention.Les œuvres de Jacynthe Carrier sont créées dans une approche participative, en étroite collaboration avec les artistes et les participant⋅es qui prennent part à ses projets.Depuis 2008, ses travaux ont fait l'objet de plusieurs reconnaissances et ont été présentés dans de nombreux contextes, majoritairement au Québec, mais également au Canada et lors d'expositions à l'international.Ses œuvres font partie de collections privées et muséales.Elle vit à Québec avec sa famille aux abords de la rivière Akiawenrahk.
