Y a-t-il une continuité entre la psychanalyse de l’enfant et celle de l’adulte ? En s’appuyant sur des cas cliniques, l’auteure s’interroge sur les effets d’une analyse ou d’une psychothérapie psychanalytique réalisée durant l’enfance, et fait ressortir la difficulté d’en dégager les répercussions sur le développement psychique ultérieur, d’en prédire la portée à long terme et met en lumière la complexité du travail analytique ainsi que le rôle essentiel de la relation transférentielle. La pratique analytique avec un enfant pose des enjeux spécifiques de cadre et de transfert. Les expériences précoces, parfois marquées par des traumas, influencent la construction du sujet à travers ses identifications. Enfin, le travail analytique avec les enfants enrichit la sensibilité de l’analyste à la dynamique transférentielle chez l’adulte, notamment dans le maniement de l’affect et dans les éprouvés contre-ransférentiels.
