Abstract
Cet article propose une lecture psychanalytique du roman Beloved de Toni Morrison, en s’appuyant sur le concept de l’ impassé , tel que défini par Scarfone. Ce roman illustre un paradoxe de l’écriture, utilisant le langage pour révéler ses limites face à l’indicible du trauma. Le style narratif provoque une expérience de lecture qui évoque la lente et sinueuse progression vers le sens, semblable à celle observée en analyse. Le rôle du personnage de Beloved est apparenté à une re-présentation hallucinatoire du passé traumatique.
