Educational strategies for improving waste segregation at the San Antonio Hospital, Mitú – Vaupés, during the second quarter of 2024

Abstract
Debido a la alta rotación de personal en la Empresa Social del Estado (E.S.E) Hospital San Antonio, ubicada en Mitú, Vaupés, la cual es asociada a las dificultades geográficas que tiene la región, la dificultad para el acceso, y la alta cantidad de sedes que tiene el hospital, y el desconocimiento de diferentes temas relacionados con la gestión ambiental, y especialmente, la separación de residuos hospitalarios por parte del personal (administrativos, médicos, enfermeros y auxiliares de enfermería), se propuso desde el área de gestión ambiental y desde el proyecto de intervención educativo de la universidad libertadores, promover la educación ambiental como una estrategia de fortalecimiento de la cultura ambiental en cada uno de los colaboradores; el proceso se realizó, durante varias etapas, se inició con una fase diagnóstica, posteriormente se realizó la revisión documental existente, donde se analizaron autores internacionales y nacionales, verificando que la literatura fuera actualizada, y la mejora del material educativo disponible, en donde se realizaron socializaciones en los diferentes espacios de capacitaciones y mejora continua, proceso en el que se desarrolló un material que fuese de fácil acceso en todas las sedes de la E.S.E, teniendo claro las dificultades tecnológicas propias de los espacios alejados del casco urbano. La correcta segregación permite, a futuro, disminuir los costos para la institución, evitando la propagación de enfermedades infecciosas, y cuidar la salud ambiental del entorno donde se encuentra la empresa, en este trabajo se inició este proceso, con el deseo de que sea continuado por los futuros ejecutores de la parte ambiental.
