Abstract
RésuméApparue dans les clubs de jazz à la fin des années quatre-vingt-dix, la jam vocale ouvre la scène aux amateurs désireux de chanter en public, mêlant dans une même ambiance festive chanteurs amateurs et professionnels du jazz, touristes curieux et copains admirateurs, habitués de la nuit et passionnés du jazz. Le temps d’une soirée, le club de jazz devient un espace original de sociabilités urbaines, mêlant expression de « soi », goût de la fête et plaisir de la rencontre. Les chanteurs, les musiciens, les programmateurs professionnels – ou espérant le devenir – font de ce nouvel espace un lieu de professionnalisation, en facilitant l’insertion de ces jeunes entrants sur un marché de l’emploi fermé, saturé et concurrentiel.
