Abstract
Este artigo analisa as formas de apropriação dos espaços públicos de Salvador a partir das feiras gastronômicas e culturais “A Feira da Cidade” e “Salvador Boa Praça”. Considerando que elas atraem um considerável público e se apropriam das praças, parques e largos da cidade, engendrando um processo de mercantilização que utiliza, especialmente, as táticas (DE CERTEAU, 1988) e sentidos da “economia criativa” e do empreendedorismo, buscou-se compreender a possibilidade dessas ações estarem estabelecendo uma racionalidade neoliberal sobre os espaços públicos, reconfigurando as relações sociais e intersubjetividades (DARDOT; LAVAL, 2016). Para isso, executou-se (i) pesquisa bibliográfica – com a construção de modelo de análise –, (ii) observações diretas e participantes, (iii) geração de dados em meios digitais com auxílio de técnicas de WebScraping (FERNANDES, 2017) e, por fim, a (iv) análise qualitativa com o software Atlas.ti. Os resultados indicam que essa racionalidade permeia não apenas mercados e empresas, mas também as práticas individuais e os usos urbanos. Verifica-se uma predominância desses eventos em bairros de classe média/alta, com curadorias que alinham produtos e atrações aos consumidores “desejados”, funcionando também como incubadoras de novos empreendimentos. De maneira que as feiras transformam os espaços em lócus de empreendedorismo e mercantilização, reconstruindo interações sociais e convertendo cidadãos em consumidores e empreendedores. As empresas, por seu turno, veem um potencial econômico, aderindo à lógica proposta. As práticas empreendidas tendem a excluir a heterogeneidade do público e são marcadas pela mercadorização da cidade, refletindo uma lógica neoliberal que influencia a organização social e econômica do meio urbano.
