The viewer watches as Srija interacts with her supportive family and helps out with household chores, all while going to college and navigating life with her partner, Arun. Srija marries Arun but it is not officially recognized. After a quick lawsuit, transgender marriage became legal, marking a shift in societal norms. Arun leaves Srija but comes back - hopefully for good as Arun's family disapproves of the marriage. The moving part of this film is Valli's unwavering support for her family and the future of Srija. An easy-to-follow story regarding social change in India and possibilities surrounding the transgendered community. This film was shown with an impact tour throughout India to bring awareness to progressive marriage rights. Suitable for all audiences, although high school and up would have a better understanding of the content. Well shot and thoughtfully executed.
