Abstract
In a first "critical"part, the present thesis offers an analysis of the poetic of non-meeting in the novelist of Quebec, Louis Gauthier. It will be a question here of exploring the trilogy of this writer dedicated to the travel narratives by trying to show that certain predispositions reduce the chances of the protagonist to live the experience of meeting. We shall be interested in impossibility for the narrator, at the same time traveller and writer, to establish a dialogue, to find words to get into contact with those that crosses his road. These features will allow us then to see how the trilogy will act as warning for our own writing. The second and last part "creation" will especially be constituted of short stories around the topic of meeting. Those short stories, composed in most cases of travel narratives, answer and tend to form a timeless collection where the relation with Others is essential and omnipresent.
