Abstract
Digital technology has generated a whole new dynamic of convergence of the techniques and the media. In this respect, broadcasting on the Internet is a perfect example. Through the latter rises the question of the ability of the Canadian and French intellectual property systems to embrace the current technological changes. More fundamentally, a comparative analysis of the two legal regimes surrounding broadcasting allows one to assess the cybernetic autonomy of the systems studied. It is argued that any adaptation of the law should be implemented with a general approach and that the belief in the adaptability of the law should be favoured However, when such adaptability shows signs of difficulty, the resolution of problems related to computer networks should be handled less from a technological standpoint with regards to novelty than a structural one with regards to systemic logic.
