Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Mid-crustal deformation of orogenic belts was investigated through studies of exhumed terrains in the Belmont Domain of the Composite Arc Belt deformed during the Grenvillian Orogeny. The western study area shows a family of broad (~10 km) antiformal sheath structures with NNE-trending axial traces (FM), separated by tight, nearly upright synforms. Within FM entrained parasitic, very tight folds are found (FT). The eastern study area shows similar but more subdued sheath structures. A late fold set (FL), with NW trending axial traces and moderate plunges perturbs FT and F M. Seismic lines through the region show the crust is dominated by SE-dipping reflectors previously interpreted as imbricated thrust sheets but now shown to be the upper limbs of the antiformal sheaths. It is proposed that during NW-vergent collision, the large rheological contrast between marbles, and underlying silicate rocks led to the upward channel flow migration of the supracrustals as sheath folds.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
