Abstract
This article exists in the fractures of mixed Black and Indigenous life, where recognition fails and refusal is its own kind of clarity. Moving through an ecosystem of memory, archive, and embodied inheritance, it traces how racial and colonial categories attempt to contain those of us at the intersections, fostered and unrecognized by the systems that insist they know who we are. By engaging personal story and critical engagement, the article follows how misrecognition shapes our bodies, families, and political possibilities and how the archive repeats these omissions until we disrupt it. What emerges is not a closed theory but a rehearsal: an experiment in mixed relationality, in tending to grief and future making simultaneously to imagine life beyond the narrow demands of the settler state. This work should be understood as unfinished, contested, and shaped by tension toward the worlds that begin when we stop waiting to be properly named.
