Análise de uma série estatística longa sobre as entradas de migrantes estrangeiros no Canadá. A série, de periodicidade anual, inicia-se em 1966 e termina 50 anos depois, em 2016, no caso dos dados sobre entradas totais de estrangeiros e de portugueses naquele país. Os dados sobre as restantes nacionalidades de migrantes entrados no Canadá cobrem um período mais curto, de 35 anos, com início em 1980 e fim em 2015. A análise da série permite identificar o declínio da emigração portuguesa para o Canadá e suas relações com a evolução da imigração canadiana em geral. Esta evolução é marcada pelo progressivo declínio das origens europeias dos migrantes entrados no Canadá e o crescimento, em contrapartida, da imigração asiática.
