Abstract
En fait, à Fès, une belle partie du programme « Logement social » a été destinée pour reloger les familles de l’habitat menaçant ruine en Médina ; c’est-à-dire le relogement de la population qui occupait la composante « sociale » de l’habitat traditionnel (maisons occupées par les couches pauvres), longtemps négligée dans les différents programmes de réhabilitation du tissu médinal. Résultat : une partie de ce tissu s’est effondrée ; une autre s’est dégradée jusqu’au devenue « menaçant ruine ». Les familles touchées ont été relogées dans les quartiers périphériques, dont Sahrij Gnaoua. L’enjeu de ce relogement hors murailles était aussi la dédensification de la médina et la récupération du foncier – constitué de « l’habitat traditionnel » – pour des projets touristiques, conformément aux orientations de la Banque mondiale.
