Measurement of the W±Z boson pair-production cross section in pp collisions at √s=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector
Bibliographic record
Abstract
The production of W ± Z events in proton–proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV is measured with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The collected data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 3.2 fb−1 . The W ± Z candidates are reconstructed using leptonic decays of the gauge bosons into electrons or muons. The measured inclusive cross section in the detector fiducial region for leptonic decay modes is σ fid. W ± Z → l' v ll = 63.2 ± 3.2 (stat.) ± 2.6 (sys.) ± 1.5 (lumi.) fb. In comparison, the next-to- 3.6 leading-order Standard Model prediction is 53.4+ −2.8 fb. The extrapolation of the measurement from the fiducial to the total phase space yields σ tot. W ± Z = 50.6 ± 2.6 (stat.) ± 2.0 (sys.) ± 0.9 (th.) ± 1.2 (lumi.) pb, in 1.1 agreement with a recent next-to-next-to-leading-order calculation of 48.2+ 1.1−1.0 pb. The cross section as a function of jet multiplicity is also measured, together with the charge-dependent W + Z and W − Z cross sections and their ratio.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
