Cet article, presente lors de la biennale de la langue francaise en juillet 2001 a Ottawa, expose la methodologie et les resultats de l'enquete internationale sur la langue francaise, la langue francaise et vous menee aupres de 7000 jeunes de 26 pays. Cette enquete est mise en parallele avec une enquete similaire realisee en 1977. L'A. presente tout d'abord la methodologie adoptee, le taux et la repartition des reponses au questionnaire avant de donner les premiers resultats. Ces resulats sont classes entre repondants francophones et non francophones et a chaque fois compares a ceux de 1977.
