Abstract
二十多年来，国内外学者关注并致力于被称为“杂交水稻第四遗传要素”的水稻最上节间伸长基因EUI（ELONGA TED UPPERMOST INTERNODE）的发现、研究和利用。在最近的2年时间里中国科学家成功地完成了EUI基因的鉴定、分离和功能解析，重要研究结果发表在国际著名期刊上。
