Abstract
Se basant sur des théories philosophiques, psychanalytiques et féministes, cet article étudie, tout d’abord, le processus par lequel la subjectivité construit, et est construite par la langue. Après avoir évalué la complexité et les limites de ce processus pour les femmes, l’auteure en discute le rôle dans Les Filles du Roy et De mère en fille d’Anne Claire Poirier. À travers la répétition de mots clés, Poirier semble représenter l’identité féminine selon les règles du système sémiologique masculin : la femme est construite comme objet passif. Cependant une lecture plus attentive de certaines séquences et de la polysémie des mots que Poirier utilise pour définir la féminité démontre que ces mots subvertissent la subjectivité que la culture patriarcale impose aux femmes.
