Abstract
Two major arteries which travel through New Orleans' Hospitality Zone (downtown area), the French Quarter and riverside, are benefiting from rejuvenation by concrete overlay. With tourism playing such an important role in the city's welfare, finding the right concrete mix for the job, catering to the specific businesses on the block, was important. The process of whitetopping was used, using the underlying thickness of the asphalt as a base and then applying a concrete layer.
