Abstract
Canadá es una nación industrial y tecnológicamente avanzada, ampliamente autosuficiente en energía gracias a sus relativamente extensos depósitos de combustibles fósiles, generación de energía nuclear y energía hidroeléctrica. A pesar de que Canadá poseer actualmente una economía ampliamente diversificada, la explotación de los recursos naturales sigue siendo un factor importante para muchas economías regionales. Canadá es miembro activo de las instituciones financieras y comerciales internacionales más importantes del mundo. En cuanto a la relación comercial entre Canadá y México se ha caracterizado por la constancia de los compromisos políticos ya que actualmente se encuentran entre los principales socios comerciales el uno del otro: más de 2, 500 empresas canadienses operan en México. Asimismo, México es un mercado prioritario para Export Development Canada (EDC), agencia que ha tenido una presencia permanente desde el año 2000. El panorama demográfico y económico de México apunta a un crecimiento aún mayor de los intercambios comerciales.
