In the last quarter of the 19th beginning of the 20th centuries the most well educated part of the Orthodox clergy of the Yenisei province without confining their activity only official duties, and took part in the research of Siberia. This article is an attempt of analysis of the role of the Orthodox clergy in the study of Yenisei province, the primary themes of scientific studies of the Yenisei clergy and missionaries and their contribution on studies of the local history, ethnography and archaeology.
