Abstract
Cashew (Anacardium occidentale L.; Anacardiaceae), a tropical evergreen tree now has of pan tropical distribution, is grown in many tropical countries including East Africa, S.E. Asia, India, Australia and others. India and Brazil are the leading exporters of cashew nuts and Indian kernel is highly appreciated and consumed for its good quality, taste, and appearance in the United States of America, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Japan, Australia, Canada, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, and the Middle East countries (Vellingiri and Thiyagarajan, 2007).
