Abstract
Cet essai explore differents aspects du travail de la photographe Lynne Cohen, en effectuant un parcours de sa recente retrospective intitulee No Man's Land: The Photographs of Lynne Cohen. Organisee par la conservatrice Ann Thomas du Musee des beaux-arts du Canada, l’exposition documente la vision singuliere de Cohen tout au long d’une carriere de trente ans comme photographe. Concevant les espaces interieurs comme des « objets trouves », l’artiste offre, avec ses vues frontales d’un blanc et noir austere ou en couleurs eclatantes, un apercu sur l’etrangete du familier. Ses photographies interrogent le design, le gout et la culture, de meme que certaines idees liees a l’espace public et prive.
