Abstract
The Iberian Peninsula has a wide range of natural habitats and our country, Spain, has the greatest variety of fauna and flora in Europe. For centuries now hunting, in this diverse and complete natural environment, has been a very widely accepted activity and has even become part of our history, our culture and our traditions. Hunters from all over Europe, America and Canada, to name but a few, have chosen Spain as their favourite hunting destination. As a consequence, hunting has become a very important source of income, mainly for traditionally\nunderprivileged rural areas. It has become an emerging market complementary to rural development plans.
