Abstract Electrochemical Noise (EN) corrosion monitoring was used in a number of field applications to monitor the corrosiveness of four oilfield pipeline environments. The EN was used to corroborate other corrosion monitoring data and to evaluate corrosion inhibition programs. Like other corrosion monitoring methods, the EN probes should be installed in an environment that is representative of the operating system. The data obtained from the EN monitoring must be reviewed to evaluate its validity. EN is most effective when it is supplemented with other corrosion monitoring techniques like corrosion coupons or LPR.
