Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

At the heart of US Airways plan to recover from bankruptcy is its daughter company, US Airways Express. With a network of 11 Regional Airlines that includes wholly owned subsidiaries PSA, Allegheny and Piedmont, Express operates more than 200 daily flights to 152 airports in the US, Canada and the Bahamas. Experts say this emphasis on regional flights is in step with the airline formula of the future: if foreign ownership restrictions are removed, major carriers will focus their attentions on international markets. Domestic markets, then, will consist primarily of low-fare regional carriers like US Airways Express. At the cockpits of these regional jets will be a large number of furloughed mainline pilots participating in Jets for Jobs, a program intended to soften the blow to the furloughed pilots by pairing them with these regional services. Although there have been complaints about the pilots' step down in pay and prestige, US Airways defends the program, saying that without it, a large number of pilots would lose their jobs altogether. US Airways Express provides a way for its parent company to regain footing, and Jobs for Jets offers jobs to pilots who would otherwise be displaced.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
