Abstract
Este articulo propone un analisis de las interacciones entre los Estados y las sociedades postindustriales en un contexto de gestion de crisis natural. Esta fundado en los conceptos de sociedad del riesgo (BECK, 2001) y de democracia dialogica (CALLON & al., 2001), estudiamos una controversia tecno-cientifi ca en Quebec derivada de la “Crisis de granizo” (1998). Incluso si se supone que los ciudadanos desempenan un rol esencial en el proceso de reconfi guracion de la politica en las democracias avanzadas, este rol es aun insufi ciente y ello, porque el Estado resulto efi caz en la gestion de dicha crisis. Concluimos que dicho analisis permite destacar los desafios sociopoliticos principales y los cuestionamientos relativos a la legitimidad del Estado contemporaneo en la gestion de las crisis naturales.
